Study Abroad Log: Florence

This past weekend I ventured to central Italy for a beautiful weekend in Florence. We began the trip at the Ferragamo museum where we learned more about the classic shoe-maker to the stars. We learned about his childhood, his clients and even got to see some original pairs of his amazing shoes. Next we headed to the Gucci Garden, a one of a kind concept store/museum for one of the most sought after brands on the market. We got a private tour through the collection of classic luggage, one of a kind couture dresses and custom coats. We spent the rest of the weekend exploring the leather market, climbing up the hillside for an amazing sunset view and consuming plenty of wine and gelato. Overall, it was an amazing and relaxing weekend in another one of Italy’s charming cities. I can’t wait to come back to Florence at the end of March and explore more of the countryside and Tuscany!
