Study Abroad Log: Amalfi Coast

After a wonderful trip through Spain during the first portion of my spring break, my friends and I headed out on a tour of the Amalfi Coast.

We spent our nights in Sorrento, a quaint port town with some of the best seafood pasta (frutti di mare in Italiano!) I’ve ever had. During the day, we took day trips to Capri, Positano and Pompeii.

In Capri we took a fantastic boat ride, hiked up 1,000 steps to the top of the island and spent the day shopping for lemon-themed souvenirs and the world-famous custom Capri sandals (another post coming soon on my sandal experience!).

On Saturday we took a long boat cruise to Positano where we enjoyed the day on the beach celebrating our friend’s birthday. Finally, on Sunday we ended our trip with a tour of the amazing ruins of Pompeii, which is truly a fascinating place to learn about and visit.

I visited the Amalfi Coast on my first trip to Europe and it was truly amazing to come back once again with new friends and a lot more travel experience under my belt! I can’t wait for the chance to come back and experience these beautiful towns again soon, and I couldn’t imagine a better last weekend trip to end study abroad on!
